Our Mission

Church safety is ministry.

Watchmen Ministries exists to equip, educate, and empower churches to protect their congregations while maintaining the welcoming environment of the local church.

Our approach brings together pastoral leadership, law-enforcement and military experience, crisis response, community outreach, and practical security principles with a distinctly Christian understanding of service.

A church is not simply another facility. It is a place of worship, prayer, counseling, children's ministry, recovery, fellowship, and community outreach. Security should support that mission—not interfere with it.

“I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night...”Isaiah 62:6 (KJV)

Watchmen Ministries is led by Darrell D. Johnson II, a founding pastor, law-enforcement professional, military veteran, and ministry leader whose experience brings together church leadership, public safety, crisis response, and community service.

Darrell has served in ministry for more than 20 years and has served as the founding and senior pastor of The Fusion Church since 2014. His pastoral experience gives him a firsthand understanding of the responsibility church leaders carry—not only to minister to people spiritually, but also to provide an environment where families, children, volunteers, and guests can worship and serve safely.

His public-safety background includes service as a U.S. Navy Master-at-Arms and an extensive career in law enforcement. During his career, he has served in supervisory and community-focused roles, campus policing, school-resource responsibilities, victim advocacy, peer support, community outreach, and crisis response. He is also a CPR/First Aid instructor. His experience includes leading teams, responding to critical incidents, working with vulnerable populations, and building relationships between public-safety organizations and the communities they serve.

Darrell holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and is pursuing graduate education in pastoral leadership. This combination of ministry, leadership, behavioral understanding, military service, and law-enforcement experience shapes the Watchman approach to church security.

His vision for Watchman is not to turn churches into fortresses. It is to help pastors develop trained, ministry-minded watchmen who understand that protecting God's people requires vigilance, wisdom, preparation, compassion, and a servant's heart.
